We have an 8:20 breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey's. We are staying at the Art of Animation. The transportation info states that buses run 45 prior to park openings. Do we need to drive our car that day?

Hi, Cynthia! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I am so excited that you are staying at my favorite Disney Value Resort hotel, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort!

In order to travel from your Disney Resort hotel to Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you have a few options. As Disney knows that some Guests are early risers who want to get the most out of their day by dining early, there are special “breakfast buses” that start about 2 hours or so before actual Disney Theme Parks start opening. I suggest touching base with your lobby concierge to find out what time exactly your breakfast buses will start running. In order to get to Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you will have to board the Magic Kingdom Park bus and then either hop onto the Resort Monorail or walk over to Disney’s Contemporary Resort (about a 5-10 minute walk).

Alternatively, you could drive your car or take a taxi as that is the fastest way to get there, perfect for those who appreciate the extra sleep time. If you decide to drive, just let a Cast Member know when pulling up that you are dining at Chef Mickey’s (you may need your reservation number), and the parking should be complimentary. If you plan on visiting Magic Kingdom Park after you fill your bellies and decide to drive, I suggest parking your car at the Transportation and Ticket Center lot and then taking the Resort Monorail to get to breakfast as you cannot park all day at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

I hope this helps you with your vacation planning! Bon appetit!
