Breakfast at 8:30 at Grand Floridian, We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside. Best way to get there? I hear take bus to M.K then either monorail or ferry to G.F but how early can we take a bus to M.K? and how long is the monorail from M.K to G.F?

    Hi Lisa,

It sounds like you have a great trip planned! Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is so lovely, and heading to breakfast at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be a great way to start one of your days.

There are a couple of possibilities for going to your breakfast reservation. Buses to the Walt Disney World theme parks start to run approximately one hour before park opening. I am not sure what day you are going to breakfast; however, if we assume that on that day Magic Kingdom Park will open at 9:00 a.m., those buses would start to run at 8:00 a.m. By the time you caught this bus to Magic Kingdom and then further transportation to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, I do not think this gives you enough time. Please be aware that there are enhancements being made to the monorail line, so operational hours may be impacted. The monorail to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa may not even be running this early in the morning. You could catch a boat or bus; however, I am still not sure that there is enough time to do this.

Another option is to take the character dining bus. Disney often runs buses for the purpose of getting guests to early morning character breakfasts. You would need to check with a cast member in the lobby of your resort the night before your reservation as to the availability of the early morning bus, as well as to what time it would pick you up. It might get you to the reservation earlier than you want to be there, and the ride may take a while.

I strongly suggest that you consider taking a taxi to this reservation. It is what I would do in this situation. If there is not one available at the resort lobby when you arrive, simply ask a cast member to call one for you. The ride should be fairly short and the price should not be more than about $20.

Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions, Lisa!
