We have a 7:45 breakfast ADR at Kona Cafe on our MK day. We are staying at the Yacht Club. With the Polynesian monorail not running, what is the best way to get to breakfast and then to MK for the day? We would prefer to use Disney transportation.

    Welcome back to planDisney, Lori!

There is nothing better than starting the day at The Most Magical Place on Earth with a delicious meal! I am so excited to hear that you have an early morning reservation at Kona Cafe, because this is one of my favorite places to have breakfast at the Walt Disney World Resort – I cannot recommend the delicious Tonga Toast enough!

Complimentary transportation is just one of the magical benefits available for Guests who decide to stay right in the middle of the magic at a Disney Resort hotel. Bus service between Disney Resort hotels and Disney theme parks begins approximately 45 minutes before park opening time, so I highly recommend taking a taxi or using a ride share service like Uber or Lyft to travel that early in the morning from Disney’s Yacht Club Resort to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, where Kona Cafe is located.

Monorail service to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is temporarily suspended due to exciting updates coming to this iconic Disney Resort hotel in summer 2021, but you can travel to Magic Kingdom Park using bus transportation, which is currently available. You can also take a water launch (also known as a water taxi), and even walk over to the Transportation and Ticket Center to board one of the ferryboats or hop on the monorail. In addition, you can now walk all the way to the park because there is a new walkway connecting Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to Magic Kingdom Park. I have not used this new walkway yet, but I believe that depending on your walking pace it may take from 20 to 30 minutes to walk from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to park entrance. I also recommend speaking with Cast Members to confirm the transportation options available on the date of your visit.

It was a pleasure answering your question, Lori! I hope this helps you while planning and that you come back to visit us real soon for more tips and advice.
