Isabel from São Paulo Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Hello from Brazil! For the first time I will be visiting Disney in july with blind teens. I found information about audio desctiption in the site, but I did't find out if this specific audio description for blind is available in Portuguese too.

    Hello Isabel!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It is a pleasure to answer a question from a fellow Brazilian. You must be excited about your upcoming visit!

The Walt Disney World Resort is committed to providing the most magical experience for all Guests, including those with visual disabilities. Although audio description services, Braille guidebooks and stationary Braille maps are available to help these Guests, I called this morning to find out if they are also available in Portuguese.

I was informed by a Cast Member that only Audio Assistance in offered in Portuguese. Audio Assistance is somewhat different than Audio Description in that it is not as full of descriptive details, its purpose is translation. This is still a great tool to help your teens enjoy their visit, and this service is known as Ears to the World, Disney Show Translator. It provides translations for many attractions and shows at all four theme parks. The translators are complimentary and available at Guest Relations in each park.

My advice is to arrive early at the theme parks, and go straight to Guest Relations. Once you get there, talk to Cast Members about the visual disabilities of the teens in your group, and they will be able to give you a full run down of all available services.

I hope this helps you while planning! Please stop by the Disney Parks Moms Panel in Portuguese next time. I will be honored to assist you in our own language.

    Best magical wishes,
    Thiana
