Hi Brandy, I chose you because I saw that you too are a marching band mom! One of our band moms has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and will be delaying treatment to bring her kids to Disney later on this week. We need help making some magic!!

Hey, Jennifer! I am so sorry to hear about your friend's diagnosis. I truly hope that she is able to make many lasting memories with her family this week at Walt Disney World Resort before beginning her treatments. Please let her know that she will be in our thoughts and prayers as she bravely fights this battle.

Let's channel the Avengers and shout this together ... Band Moms - Assemble! It is so wonderful you are hoping to together make some magic for your fellow band mom and her family. I have a few ideas for you that can hopefully get you started. The first thing I thought of was calling Disney Fine Art Photography to see if they have any openings. The Mini Sessions that they do around Walt Disney World Resort are absolutely breathtaking. While the ones done near Cinderella Castle are magical, I personally love the ones done outside the Epcot area Disney Resort Hotels. I am sure they would greatly appreciate being able to take some pictures together as a family.

Another idea is to look over the Disney Floral and Gifts website or call one of the Dream Makers to see if they have a practically perfect basket idea. When I visited this department last year, I saw several of the decorated Christmas trees. Maybe one of the holiday-themed trees or an In-Room Celebration would be a great welcome for them as they check-in at their Disney Resort Hotel.

I am not sure if there would be any availability this close to their arrival day, but there are a few experiences that could be prearranged, such as a Tour or special dining experience. Since they always say that laughter is the best medicine, I think an evening at Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue would be a great idea for them. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is in full swing, so you may want to check to see if tickets are available for parties this coming week. If they are already planning to attend the party, then maybe look into either the dessert party there or during Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Jennifer, I hope these ideas help you come up with a way to add a bit of magic to your friend's visit. If you want to chat about some more specific ideas or have any other questions, feel free to pop by again.
