Well hi there Marta, I'd like to wish you a very Royal welcome to planDisney!
When it comes to taking water safety seriously, I'm so glad that I'm able to answer this question for you. I've spent a significant chunk of my life being trained and drilled in marine safety, lifesaving skills and drowning prevention and am so glad to hear that you were able to take advantage of the personal flotation devices (PFDs) available to you during your previous stay at
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort! While the
pools are excellently themed and well-monitored, it's always great to have that extra layer of safety while you're keeping an eye on your youngest aquatic adventurers.
I checked with one of the
Recreation Cast Members who was able to confirm for me that the personal flotation devices that they have available in multiple sizes are TRC Recreation Super-Soft USCG Swim Vests. The USCG part denotes that they have been approved by the United States Coast Guard for safety, and I can imagine that the soft texture helps reduce discomfort from friction when worn in the water. What I always recommend is that as your child gets older, always be sure to readjust and resize any flotation device that they wear to fit them well as they gain more confidence in the water!
Did you know that these are in fact, the same personal flotation devices available at Disney's
Typhoon Lagoon Water Park? I recently rediscovered how much I absolutely enjoy spending the day here, whether it's drifting away on
Castaway Creek or hearing the chorus of screams before every massive wave at the
Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool. If your child's a budding water wanderer like I was when I was a kid, then they might love the wide variety of attractions available to even the smallest splashers, like
Miss Adventure Falls that you may be able to enjoy together!
Come back to planDisney
any time you have more questions ahead of your next visit to any Disney Destinations, Marta - I hope that this was helpful!
Wishing you all the best on your next aquatic adventure!
