My boys are 6 & 8 yrs old. Last year, we rented a stroller for our last 3 days 5 yr old. We are debating on taking our side-by-side stroller. What if it doesn't fit in through security at the airport?

    Hi Kim,

I have traveled a number of times through each of the New York Metro and Orlando airports with a pretty hefty side-by-side stroller.  I'm assuming, like me, you plan to take the stroller right up to the plane and "gate check" it, making it available to you as soon as you land.  In general, at security, if the collapsed stroller cannot fit through the X-ray machine, it can be "hand searched" by a TSA agent.  This is the same process used to search wheelchairs and other assisted mobility devices/vehicles.  It takes a few minutes longer, but not significantly so, and then you're on your way.

You can check with your airline about specific restrictions, but I don't think you'll have any problems.

    Have a wonderful trip!
