Hi! My 2 boys really want to stay in an Incredibles themed room! All that is available is Bay Lake Tower. Our room type would by the studio. Are these Incredible themed?

    Hi Cranessa,

Welcome to planDisney! How exciting - you’re bringing your boys to the magic of Walt Disney World very soon! March will be here before you know it, so it is very smart of you to start planning now. I also have two boys and love bringing them to Walt Disney World Resort often. It is our favorite place to visit. My boys are also fans of great theming, so your question is one that really spoke to me. Disney's Contemporary Resort offers beautiful theming, so I'm glad you chose that location for your trip. Let’s hop to it and get you some answers.

Cranessa, the exciting news is that rooms at the Contemporary’s Bay Lake Tower are currently being refurbished! The Contemporary is one of the original resort hotels, having opened when  Magic Kingdom did in 1971, so these rooms being reimagined is super cool to me. Refurbishments are happening through late 2027, so you are not guaranteed to get a new room during your stay. You can request any specific room type within the category you booked (like a refurbished one) 60 days prior to the start of your stay. My fellow panelist LeAndra provides details on how to do that here. While the Bay Lake tower rooms are not being given an Incredibles theme similar to the rooms you’ll find in the main building, I do think the new theming is beautiful. To see them on the website, use the Contemporary link above, tap Room Rates, then scroll down to the section labeled Deluxe Studios, then tap the View Photos link under Deluxe Studio.

I am so sorry that the room types at Bay Lake Tower won’t have the theming your boys are excited for. If your heart is still really grieving, I have a few suggestions to help you keep on believing:

    1. Check the website for your dates again; perhaps consider either being flexible (maybe change your arrival or departure dates if you can), or consider a split stay at a resort that meets your needs. My fellow panelist Ashley tells you how to do a split stay during your vacation here. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is close to the Contemporary and any rooms there are Moana themed. Cast members at the Contemporary would be happy to help you move your luggage. I just peeked at the Contemporary’s availability for a March 14 arrival with a March 20 departure on the website and there was availability today in the main building! This availability is subject to change.
    2. Consider another resort that your boys might love. It's easy to change your reservations; you can either do it yourself on the My Disney Experience website or you can ask a cast member for help. Aside from the Polynesian, consider Disney’s Art of Animation resort which has Cars, Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid and The Lion King theming (Standard rooms will be Little Mermaid themed). At this resort, theming extends beyond the rooms and it's on the Disney Skyliner route.
Cranessa, I hope this information is helpful to you. Your 60 day mark is approaching soon, so I know you have some decisions to make. Whichever choice you make, know that you really can't go wrong. Do come back and let us know if we can be of any further assistance as you decide. We’ll see ya real soon!
