My boys will be 3 and 6 when we plan to cruise and I am afraid they might be afraid when they see lifesize Mickey and pals. How often might they run into a character up close?

    Hi Heather,

I'm excited for you!  A Disney cruise is an incredible vacation and I guarantee you'll have a magically memorable time.

I understand the issues you've mentioned.  I've come across many children's reactions when it comes to the characters.  It has been anywhere from wariness to definite panic.  You shouldn't worry about it while you're on your trip.  There are a few things that you can do.

When registering your boys on-line for the kids club there will be a section where you can add information/concerns.  Please note the issue there.  When you check them into the club for the first time speak to the counselors about the issue, and try to find out when characters are scheduled to visit the club.  The counselors are very well trained, and excellent at their jobs.  Please remember to check your Personal Navigator each evening so you can avoid the meet and greets at different locations on the ship each day.

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.  Bon voyage Heather!
