My boys will be marching with their highschool band in WDW. My hubby and 2 year old are going to watch. Where is the best place or best way for me to get a video of the parade? I'd love to have video without huge crowds blocking the way. Tricky question!

Hi Amy! Yes getting any pictures at Walt Disney World without a lot of other guests sharing them is tough and a video would be even tougher. But what a great experience for not only your boys but your entire family!

As I sit here and think about possibilities it seems that if I was trying to video I would choose a location where I was not getting just the sides of the band passing by but as much of the front end marching toward me.  This could best be done where the street is curving around and that happens twice: in front of the train station on Main Street and again in front of the castle.

If the band begins on Main Street (usually this is the path) it will come out from the area by the Harmony Barbershop. You can stand there for the first shots of them but your background won't be too exciting.  The best location for you would be to go early and nab a spot at the end of Main Street where the circle in front of the castle begins.  You then will get a great video of the band as it comes up the street and then also as it marches and turns to go around the circle. Obviously there will always be guests around you and probably walking in front of you at some point but this spot might be the best overall for seeing the most of the bands on video!

Congratulations to your sons and their fellow band members for being chosen for this great honor!  Enjoy!
