Hi, Jessica!
I’m so happy you’re planning a visit to The Happiest Place on Earth with your little guy. There is so much magic to explore at the Disneyland Resort, and if this is your son’s first visit, it will be extra special!
At Disneyland Park, we spend a lot of time in Fantasyland. My son’s top picks there are Dumbo the Flying Elephant (he loves to control our elephant and make it go up and down all on his own) and the classic boat ride of “it’s a small world.” Jungle Cruise in Adventureland is another favorite attraction that our whole family can ride together—my son has fun pointing out all the animals he knows. “Mickey and the Magical Map” is a live show that is also one of our must-dos every visit. This is a show unlike any other in the theme parks and combines innovative technology with favorite Disney characters and songs. Be sure to see the nighttime spectacular Fantasmic!, and if anyone in your group is a fan of princesses, stop by Fantasy Faire to meet some Disney royalty.
If your son is like mine, he’s a big
Cars fan, so he would love Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park! Be sure to see it during the day and also at night when the neon lights are aglow. It’s like stepping right into the movie! Be sure to grab a tasty meal at Flo’s V8 Café in Cars Land, too. The décor is inspired by the drive-up diners along Route 66 and features a spectacular view of cars speeding by on the Radiator Springs Racers attraction. My son isn’t quite tall enough to ride yet, so he loves to watch!
If this is your family’s inaugural Disney vacation, don’t forget to pick up complimentary “first visit” buttons upon arrival, Jessica. Please feel free to visit me again with more questions as you continue to plan!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
