Hi! My boyfriend and I of 3 years are going on our very first vacation together to Disney! We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I was wondering which restaurant at the resort do you think is the best!?

    Hi there Kourtnie,

Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL) is the perfect getaway for you and your honey!  You two are gonna have a blast exploring the safari-themed resort and watching the exotic wildlife from every window and terrace!  There's so much to see and do here!  It's an attraction all its own!

So, there are 3 fabulous table service dining experiences at AKL and I have dined at each one numerous times!  Each one has something unique to bring to the table...(excuse the pun!)

Boma is a casual buffet style restaurant serving lunch and dinner!  Here you'll be able to find a wide variety of offerings including american favorites and even some African-inspired cuisine that may be new to you!  Many argue that Boma is hands down the BEST buffet on property and after eating there myself, I must say I agree!  If you visit during dinner, you MUST try the Zebra Domes.  I won't say anything else...don't wanna ruin the surprise!

Sanaa is another casual dining location located over in Kidani Village.  The setting is beautiful with walls adorned with native African artifacts.  The best part is the view!  The floor to ceiling picture windows give way to an unparalleled view of the savanna and its inhabitants!  Much of the food here is cooked in an authentic Tandoor oven and I've always enjoyed everything I've ever ordered, especially the Tandoori Mango Chicken!

Jiko is the resort's Signature, fine dining restaurant and is one of my favorite's.  This upscale experience is open for dinner and offers a warm and inviting ambience just perfect for a romantic dinner for two!

Looking for more dining options outside of Animal Kingdom Lodge?  I am a Disney Foodie and happy to make suggestions!  Feel fee to drop me a line!
