    My boyfriend and I are wanting to plan a trip to Disney World in August but I am wondering if my son will be able to ride any of the rides. He's 4 years old. We plan to be there for a week. A day at each park or less I'm getting hopper tickets

    Hello Erika!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

    How exciting that your 4 year-old will be getting to experience the Endless Magic of the Walt Disney World Resort for the first time this August!

    There are plenty of exciting attractions and entertainment geared for young children throughout the Walt Disney World Theme Parks.  I have found that most rides are accessible to all ages and that any restrictions are based mostly on parents discretion on whether or not the child can "handle" the experience (like Haunted Mansion).

    There are several attractions that due to safety or thrill level require Guests to be a certain height to experience. These restrictions are not based on age, they are based on the Guest's height.

    To find a list of rides with height requirements, you can search through the list of all Walt Disney World attractions or print out the height chart sheet from Disney Parks.  Cast Members will check any Guests they feel do not meet the height requirements and will enforce the safety measure at their discretion. If your child is not tall enough, they will not be riding!

    When we rode Soarin' in Epcot on our most recent Walt Disney World Resort vacation, my youngest was just under the height requirement of 40" and was unable to ride. In that instance, we took advantage of the Rider Switch Service offered at many Theme Park attractions that allows Guests traveling with those unable or unwilling to ride to still get a chance to experience their favorite attractions.
