Hi! My boyfriend and I (27 and 28) are visiting WDW Oct 12th - Oct 18th. Just realized that the Food and Wine Festival will be then, will that impact the crowds at all? Thanks!

    Elizabeth:

Disney considers most of October regular season instead of value season which means slightly higher crowd levels than last month.

Although the Food & Wine Festival does impact crowd levels, it's mostly on the weekends when more of the seminars are held.  What lifts crowd levels more that week than the Food & Wine festival is the families who take advantage of the Columbus Day Weekend and the fall breaks that more and more schools are taking around that same time.

We visited Disney last year toward the end of October and watched many of the internet fans sites prior to our visit.  Most agreed that the crowds were larger than anticipated that week.  However, with the current recession, I imagine this year could see lower crowds than last year.  Regardless, October brings such pleasant weather and measurably lower crowds than summer, it's why our family will be back again this month!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
