My boyfriend and I are visiting walt disney world in just one week! We will be camping at fort wilderness & are pass holders.Anything off the beaten path that you would reccommend a young (20yr & 26yr) couple to experience that is budget friendly?

Hi Karlee! My family spends a lot of time at Fort Wilderness although as I have gotten older we have moved on the camping in a large motor coach!

Since you are going to Fort Wilderness make sure you enjoy some of the great things offered right there.  Take time and rent a canoe or kayak and take the hour cruise along the back canals. Depending on time of day you might see deer and otter.  See if you can reserve a carriage ride (407-939-7529) one evening.  Rent a bike and ride through the loops or head to the Wilderness Lodge.

Take one evening and head over to the Boardwalk area where you can enjoy the entertainment or eat and check out the latest sports at the ESPN Club.

One day you might want to resort hop. Take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then hop on the resort monorail and stop at the Contemporary, Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian. It is always fun to see other resorts.

One of our new favorite things to do is to go to Downtown Disney and take in a Fork and Screen movie at the AMC Theater. This is where you can be served food during your movie and the seats are so comfy. Movie tickets are about $14 and the food is extra but they have all kinds of options on the menu. Soon there will be a large bowling facility opening in this area and there is always some kind of entertainment going on.
