Hi! :) My boyfriend and I would like to visit DLP but I am terribly scared of rollercoasters. Are there many other activities we can do that wouldn't involve heights? Is it even worth going if we don't do rollercoasters?

    Bonjour!

Hi Angel, it’s great to see you back over here with us at planDisney! It looks like you are thinking of heading to Disneyland Paris in just a couple of days, which is so exciting! However, if you are not a fan of rollercoasters, I can see why you may be a little anxious, so let’s talk this through.

Angel, there is so much to do at Disneyland Paris that is not thrilling rollercoasters, across both Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World. There is also Disney Village and the Disney Hotel areas, which have lots to see and do. The two theme parks actually have 42 attractions between them with no height requirements at all, which means they are suitable for everyone. These include Disney classics such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Phantom Manor, and Peter Pan’s Flight.

I love rollercoasters now, but there was a time when they terrified me when I was younger. It was actually on my first trip to Disneyland Paris that I tried one and fell in love with them! What I like about Disney rollercoasters such as Space Mountain and Avengers Assemble: Flight Force is that they take place mostly in the dark, so you don't really know what is coming next, which I find way less scary. Also, rollercoasters like Big Thunder Mountain don't have inversions, and the track stays close to the ground as it follows the curves of the mountain, which can make it feel less intimidating as you don't feel so high up.

I hope this reassures you, Angel, that you can have the best time at Disneyland Paris without setting foot on a rollercoaster! A tip for you is to avoid Crush’s Coaster if you do not want a thrill ride. This Finding Nemo-themed attraction could easily be mistaken for a traditional dark ride, but it is definitely a fast-paced spinning coaster - kind of a cross between a waltzer and a rollercoaster!

Have the best time visiting Disneyland Paris, Angel, and if you have any other vacation planning questions, please reach out to me anytime. I'd love to help!

    Have a magical day!
    Matt
