Hi Shawna, welcome to planDisney! It's important to know which items can be brought through security into the theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort, and I'm happy to connect you with some important resources that will help make packing your park bag a breeze!
I encourage you to take a look at the
Property Rules, Policies & Regulations, as they will cover all the critical information you need to know about permitted and prohibited items. It looks like e-cigarettes or other vapor or smoke producing products are allowed, just make sure your boyfriend is in a designated smoking area. A list of these areas as well as a map can be found on the
Designated Smoking Areas page. If you're in the parks or another location at Disney World and can't pull up the map or list, a friendly Cast Member will be happy to direct you to the nearest smoking area.
You can also use the
My Disney Experience app to find these locations, just click the wayfinding pin at the bottom of the screen to the right of the home icon, then toggle the Guest Services filter at the top of the map. Look for the cigarette icon for designated smoking areas.
Now let's talk about security screening and your question about your boyfriend's implant. When you approach the security area, just inform the Cast Members about the implant and they will guide you through the screening process. Disney World offers a
wide variety of services for guests who are deaf or have hearing loss, so review that information to help plan your visit. If you have additional questions, you can
send an email to a Cast Member in Disability Services, and they will be happy to assist you!
