My boyfriend and I are traveling to Disney together in a few months, and I’m wondering how to get him on My Disney Experience as the sub-user I’ve set up on my account, or if he just has to log into his app as me in order to get into our room & such

    Hi Carly, welcome to planDisney!

Virginia is for Disney lovers, and I'm so glad you and your boyfriend are planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort this summer. A recipe for summer fun includes beating the heat and crowds by taking advantage of early theme park entry for Disney Resorts Collection hotel Guests. Complimentary transportation will get you back to your Disney Resort hotel for a midday pool and/or rest break. Ending your park days with a nighttime spectacular is like the cherry on top of your Plaza Ice Cream Parlor Sundae

My Disney Experience is the digital space that houses all of your vacation entitlements (tickets, resort reservations, theme park reservations, dining reservations, etc). It sounds like you have your own account and that you currently manage your boyfriend's account profile. You can confirm this by taking a look at your Family & Friends List. If your boyfriend's name has the words "Plans managed by me" next to it, he can only access his vacation entitlements directly by logging into your My Disney Experience account.

If your boyfriend plans on being an active planning participant during your vacation (using the My Disney Experience mobile app to unlock your room door, join the virtual queue, purchase Disney Genie+ service, book Genie+ Lightning Lanes, view Disney PhotoPass images, etc), I highly recommend he create his own My Disney Experience account. Once he has created an account, follow these steps to merge the account profile you manage with his new account:

    1. Click "Update" next to his name on your Family & Friends List.
    2. Click "Share planning with [boyfriend's first name,]" which appears on the right in the Update Information box.
    3. Enter the email address associated with your boyfriend's My Disney Experience account and click "Continue."
    4. Ask your boyfriend to accept the email invitation to connect. When he does, all of the vacation entitlements housed in your account will automagically transfer to his account. You will remain connected as Family & Friends, which means you can still view and make plans for each other.

Having your own My Disney Experience accounts lessens the chance of Stitch-uations during your park days, Carly. It also gives you double the chance of successfully joining the virtual queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind or TRON Lightcycle / Run. The first to secure a boarding group earns bragging rights and a DOLE Whip!

Hope to see you planning Disney at planDisney again soon!
