My boyfriend and I are taking out first vacation to Disneyworld together from Jan. 9-13, 2012. Have the free dining plans typically been offered at this time of year?

    Hi!

Unfortunately, it's usually not, but that doesn't mean it won't be this coming January!  To get a feel of what's been offered, I recommend visiting the independent website MouseSavers.com.  MouseSavers has a historical database of discounts offered at Walt Disney World.  To go right to that page, I recommend using Google with "MouseSavers Historical Walt Disney World Discounts" or something close to that.  The site also has a lot of ways to save money at Walt Disney World so be sure to visit!

Be sure to make Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) before your trip!  Also, since it is your first visit, I highly recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It's a great book with just the right amount of information without being overwhelming.  It's also a beautiful book, full of lots of full color photographs.  It will give you a good feel for what there is to do at Walt Disney World!

Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
