My boyfriend, son, and I will be going to Walt Disney World on September 4-9, 2017. During the time that we will be there, how crowded is it usually and should we expect bad weather?

    Hi Marissa,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We're happy to help you plan all the details of your Walt Disney World vacation next year.

Crowds at Walt Disney World usually drop significantly during the final weeks of August and early September as families around the country return to school. We find it to be among the least crowded times of the year and often spend Labor Day weekend at Walt Disney World for that reason.

The summer rains start to ease a bit in September, but you should still be prepared for almost daily precipitation. The good news is that the showers and thunderstorms don't typically last long. We always tuck a rain poncho for each of us in our backpack or bag before we leave home so that we're prepared when the rain hits.  Often, if we duck into a restaurant for a snack or into an indoor attraction, the rain is gone by the time we're done.

Temperatures, too, ease ever so slightly in September. You can expect highs around 90 with lows in the mid 70s.

I hope that's helpful. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions as you plan our magical vacation. Enjoy!
