My boyfriend and I will be in San Diego 12/15-22 and are planning on spending a weekday at DL. Which day would be least crowded? What time should we arrive to get parked for park opening? Do you think we could realistically visit both parks that day?

    Hi there Allison,

So excited to hear that you're squeezing in a day at Disneyland on your upcoming visit to Southern California!  You are gonna be so glad you did, because THIS is the most magical time of year to visit!  I was lucky enough to spend a few nights there a few weeks ago and I can honestly say that I was blown away by the amazing sights and sounds of the Holidays!  It gets better and better year by year!

So looking at your dates, I think I'd have to suggest planning your visit on either the 17th or the 18th as the weekends do tend to run a little busier than weekdays!  The earlier in the week the better though, because schools will be letting out for Holiday breaks the closer you get to Christmas Day.

On both of those days, the parks open at 8:00 am and to really maximize your day, you'll want to be at the entrance turnstiles before the "rope drops."  To ensure this happening, you'll need to arrive at the parking structure by 7:00 am.

I have NO doubt that you will be able to experience both parks in one day if you're planning to spend the entire morning and afternoon at the DIsneyland Resort!  Both parks are located literally steps from one another so it's really like one big park!  You just exit Disneyland and take a few short steps and BOOM!  You're at the entrance to California Adventure!  Head to your right, and you're in Downtown Disney!  It's so convenient and Easy Peasy!

Please write back to me if you would like more tips on how to really maximize this quick trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!
