Hi Valerie!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Resort at Walt Disney World! The property is so beautiful and relaxing, yet you're still close to the magic of Disney. I'm counting down the days until our next camping adventure.
Transportation is really easy at the campground. There are internal buses that will take you wherever you'd like to go. If you're planning on going to Disney Springs, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Epcot or one of the water parks, you will take an internal bus from your campsite "loop" to the Outpost Depot located at the entrance to Fort Wilderness. From there, you'll catch the appropriate bus for your destination. If you are traveling to the Magic Kingdom, you will take an internal bus from your "loop" to the Settlement Depot located towards the marina. You'll then take a ferry boat right over to the Magic Kingdom. Even if you aren't planning on visiting the Magic Kingdom, a ride on the ferry boat is really nice, especially in the evening. You can take it over, stay on and then ride it back to the campground.
Another option for transportation around Fort Wilderness is by
golf cart. To my family, a golf cart is a "must-do" when we camp. The golf carts can be driven all around the campground. There is a designated parking lot at the Outpost Depot, Meadow Depot (where the
Chip 'N Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long is) and the Settlement Depot. These can be reserved in advance by calling (407) 824-2742. The current price is $59 plus tax per day.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
