Hello! My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Disney World since he’s never been there and I have no idea how to start the planning process. We are huge Star Wars fans- that’s how we met and would love to ho to Galaxy’s Edge!

Greetings from a galaxy far, far away! I’m so glad that you’ve infiltrated the First Order to ask questions hEAR at planDisney!

Nadia, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a land like no other and you’ll feel transported to another world as soon as you step foot in Batuu. Now, in order to live out your Star Wars adventure, let’s talk about planning!

To feel immersed in the Magic, my family and I love to stay at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. With complimentary theme park transportation and early morning access for resort guests, staying in the Magic helps us to have a stress-free vacation. If your plans include a resort stay, I would consider a vacation package that bundles your hotel accommodations with theme park tickets. This requires a $200 deposit and then you can pay overtime with the balance due 30 days prior to check-in. You can start this process HERE by inputting your desired travel dates and searching availability.

Now, since your main goal is to join the Rebel Alliance, you may want to consider a resort close to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Here are the ones I would recommend based on access to the Disney Skyliner, walkability or boat service:
       Disney’s Pop Century Resort
       Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
       Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
       Disney’s Riviera Resort
       Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
       Disney’s Beach Club Resort
       Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Nadia, once you’ve selected a resort, you’ll be prompted to select theme park tickets (how many days you’d like to visit the parks and if you’d like to upgrade to park hoppers). Once you’ve made those choices, you’re almost done and ready to secure your reservation.

After your trip is booked (and linked to your My Disney Experience account), you’ll be able to make Disney Park Pass reservations and advanced dining or experience reservations, like building a droid or crafting a lightsaber (60 days before check-in). Nadia, I hope this helps kick-start your journey and remember, like any Jedi, we are happy to answer questions, so come on back with any other needs you might have.

May The Force Be With You.

    Lauren

P.S. Make a point to channel your inner Luke and try the blue (or green) milk!

Meet the Panelist: Lauren, Pennsylvania

Greetings from central Pennsylvania! Hi, I’m Lauren and I can’t wait to answer all of your Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Vacation Club questions. My husband and I became Disney Vacation Club Members because we love visiting the Disney Parks and with hectic day-to-day schedules, wanted to prioritize time away for our family. The options at the Walt Disney World Resort make each trip unique and I am excited to help other families build vacations with those unforgettable moments.
