Hi ! My boyfriend and I are planning our first trip to Disney and just aren't sure which dinning plan to go with, or even if they are worth it. I think we would like a big buffet breakfast, quick lunch and a sit down dinner each night. Please help! Thanks

    Hi Courtney!

I enjoy having the dining plan when we vacation. It's nice to know that most of your food has been paid for in advance, and I have always saved money by having the plan. I usually save my receipts and calculate what our meals and snacks would have cost had we been paying out of pocket, and we have come out on top every time.

It looks like you are planning on two sit down and one quick meal a day. Out of the three dining plans, the one that would most likely fit your needs best would be the Deluxe Dining Plan. This plan offers three meal credits each day that can be used however you like. You can use them all for table service, or use one for a counter service and two for table service meals each day. You also get two snack credits per person and a refillable mug that can be used for unlimited refills on drinks at your resort.

If there are some days that you don't want to eat a sit down breakfast, you could save your credits and have dinner at one of the signature restaurants that require two credits per person. Some of my personal favorite signature restaurants include California Grill at the Contemporary resort and Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The current cost of the deluxe dining plan is $71.99 for adults per night of your stay. I would suggest visiting www.allears.net to view the menus of the places you'd like to dine at. With a little research, you can decide if the dining plan is a good investment. From the allears homepage, click "Dining" at the top and then "The Menus" on the left side of the page.

I hope this helps! Good luck deciding!
