My boyfriend and I are planning on going to Disney during the week of Christmas. Would like to know around how long it is going to take to get through each park without seeing any shows?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Alexis! What a magical holiday vacation you have coming up. I’m sure it will be extra festive since it’s right over the big holiday.

I always use the Undercover Tourist crowd calendar to predict how crowded a park will be on any given day. I can tell you that major holidays like Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas draw very large crowds, so please bring a large dose of patience with you in your Park-going bag. I typically wait about 20 minutes in a line when I have a FastPass+ reservation, but without one, you can wait anywhere from 10 to 80 minutes, depending on the attraction. Use the My Disney Experience mobile app to see real-time waits across all four major theme parks. In a now smaller park like Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can ride the 6 or so attractions in 6 hours or less. Larger parks like Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom can be whole day Parks when battling lots of foot traffic and a large number of high-demand attractions. I would expect to spend at least one full day at each Park during Christmas.

Don’t forget that if you visit a Park early in the day, various nighttime shows are still beckoning when the sun goes down. Visit the Parks during different times of the day to see the nightlife begin to glow! ~ Lindsey P.
