My boyfriend and I would like to plan a trip to Disney for the month of July. I was wondering what the average temperature is during the month of July in Florida? Also, what would you recommend on how to beat the heat, I have a slight heat intolerance.

Hi Samantha and thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You and your boyfriend are going to love your time at Walt Disney World Resort! It truly is magical!

I want you to be prepared though - yes - July will be hot. July and August are typically the warmest months of the year with an average high of 92 degrees and an average low of 76 degrees. Rainfall is typically a little over 7 inches so be prepared for a rain shower while you are there. I think the most challenging part of the weather is the humidity. I live in Texas and I think it's hot in Florida during the summer so it may be rather uncomfortable for you coming from Massachusetts. However - don't let this discourage you. There are ways to beat the heat and a warm day at Walt Disney World Resort is still a day filled with magic and pixie dust.

First of all, (and I know you know this) stay hydrated. Water will be your best friend. Drink water constantly.

Some other items that might help are personal misting fans, cooling towels and we recently switched over to almost exclusively wearing the moisture wicking apparel in cooler colors when we visit Walt Disney World Resort in the summer. It has been a tremendous help. Other than that, when you are in the theme parks, you will find oodles of spots that are shady or air conditioned. Seek them out and enjoy them. We also try to make a lunch time reservation at a table service restaurant. Not only is it a nice break with yummy food, the time inside in the air conditioning is blissful.

Another tip I would suggest is to take a break in the afternoon when the weather is the warmest. Head back to your Resort hotel and take a dip in the pool or just relax. It's amazing how invigorating that time of rest can be. Then you can head back to the theme park and enjoy your evening.

Thanks so much for your question and please let us know if you need any other tips to help plan your magical vacation!
