Ahoy Jennifer, welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited to see that you're considering a Disney Cruise! I understand that planning for a new adventure can feel like you're in uncharted waters sometimes, so you've come to the right place to ease any fears before heading out to
Halloween on the High Seas! Let's get to your great question!
Not all Disney Cruise itineraries require that Guests travel with a passport, but for round-trip sailings to the Bahamas, which is the itinerary you're eyeing, travelers must have an original valid US passport OR original state-issued birth certificate AND a physical government-issued photo ID. There are other documents that could also work in lieu of the documents I mention here, however, and these are listed on the
Disney Cruise Line website, including more details about documentation for all Disney Cruise sailings.
That said, Jennifer,
Disney does recommend that Guests carry a valid passport with them when traveling. In the unlikely event that an emergency should occur requiring a flight home from a foreign port, a passport allows for a swift journey home.
But enough worst-case scenario talk,
Halloween on the High Seas is no nightmare and filled with not-so-scary activities where you will encounter Disney pals in ghostly garb and experience frightfully fun entertainment. My favorite is the magical Halloween tree, located in the grand atrium and features dozens of glowing jack-o'-lanterns. You won't want to miss this spooky spot for a photo op!
I hope this has been helpful to you, Jennifer! If you have any other questions as you're planning, please
come visit us again anytime. We promise we're not scary.
Your pal,
McCayla
