Hiya, Kori! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!
I’m happy to help with your inked-up inquiry. I have several tattoos myself, so I appreciate their importance as a form of self-expression and method of communicating one’s values, interests, and experiences with the world. And that they often look super cool.
The Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules (found
here) state that “Visible tattoos that could be considered inappropriate, such as those containing objectionable language or designs, are not permitted.” There is no defined list of what is considered inappropriate, but Cast Members may ask a guest to cover up a tattoo that they feel is in violation of the rule.
It’s difficult to say whether your boyfriend’s tattoos would be an issue, but if you are worried, then I’d suggest coming prepared with a fabric sleeve he can put over his legs or arms (if you search “tattoo cover up sleeves” in your favorite search engine you’ll find several products that work). You might also consider bringing a bandage or wrap for a quick cover-up. I’ve never personally seen anyone be asked to cover a tattoo while visiting Walt Disney World, but it seems smart to come prepared given how far you’ll be traveling to get here.
Pro Tat Tip: Even if your boyfriend doesn’t have to cover up his tattoos, please remind him to bring plenty of sunscreen. Tattoos are an investment, and it would be a shame if the hot Florida sun caused them to fade prematurely while you're enjoying the
theme parks,
water parks, and everything else Walt Disney World has to offer.
Kori, I hope this information helps you prepare for your Walt Disney World adventure. With so much happening at Walt Disney World this year, and a number of
special offers, 2025 is a great time to visit. Don’t hesitate to come right back to planDisney if you have any other questions. We’re happy to help!
Magical travels!
Matt
