Hello, Shelby. Thanks for stopping at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
My family and I typically drive to
Walt Disney World. It's only about an 8-hour drive so we like to wake up super early and be able to enjoy a full fun day. I think you'll be happy to know that at the stroke of midnight, kind of like Cinderella, on your check-in day you can take full advantage of all the great
benefits being an on property Guest. A few days before your trip, I suggest checking in online using your
My Disney Experience account. Doing this will let the resort know what time you plan on arriving which helps them better prepare for you. As soon as you park your car, you are free to hop on the complimentary bus service to any of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, Water Parks and Disney Springs. As an on property Guest, you can even take advantage of Extra Magic Hours on your check-in day, even if your room isn't ready. The cool part about using the online check-in system is that you can opt-in to receive a text message letting you know when your room is ready. You'll be able to bypass the front desk all together. You can open your door, when your room is ready, either using your MagicBand or the My Disney Experience mobile app. Pretty cool, right? If you're in the mood for a more relaxing morning, you can also lounge by the pool at the resort you'll be staying at until your room is ready. This is one of my family's favorite ways to start our vacation. Mickey waffles and pool time!
I hope this helps you plan your first day a little bit better. If you have any other questions, I'd love for you to come back and ask me. Enjoy your vacation!
