Hey there Tracey, I'm happy to wish you a warm Canadian welcome to planDisney!
I hope that you're getting stoked as you spend the summer planning for your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation with your boyfriend and you might be surprised at how easily that first trip together can turn into a
Disney engagement down the line and eventually a
Disney Fairy Tale Wedding! (At least, that's how it worked out for my husband and I several years ago).
I remember the days when we were younger and looking forward to family vacations, as some magical pieces of mail would arrive with things like luggage tags, coupons or even
Disney Bands (known as MagicBands within the United States) to build the hype ahead of the trip. Sadly however, this is no longer an offering currently available to international guests including Canadians - though
American folks and families still continue to receive these at the present time. On our most recent stay I took the opportunity to talk with the
Cast Members at the Front Desk and they let me know that while they're aware that international guests aren't able to have luggage tags mailed to their home addresses, some do request these as they check in at their Disney Resort Hotel and have been successful in procuring them! (They also noted that this is subject to availability and in our experience it did take the Cast Member quite some time to locate them.)
Interestingly enough, at the current time guests from Canada can still
receive luggage tags sent to them in the mail when booking a trip with Disney Cruise Line so there's really no telling right now as to whether policies may change again in the future. I always encourage fellow Canucks to weigh their options to see what Walt Disney World Resort vacation packages might work best for them while keeping an eye on any
Special Offers that come up, and to always be aware that sometimes just as there may be deals often exclusive to Canadian Residents there are also certain offerings that are only available to those within the United States.
As for that first trip together, I highly recommend spending some time doing some World Showcase globetrotting during the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival this year, and thinking about the adventures you two might want to have together in the future. You might even be interested in booking a special moment or experience to enjoy together through the
Enchanting Extras collection while you're here! Either way I'm wishing you both the most incredible introduction to your Disney journeys as a couple and you're always welcome to c
ome back here at planDisney to ask for any more tips and advice before you go!
Here's to the start of a Happily Ever After at Disney Destinations!
