Hi Lisa! Welcome to planDisney, where we answer all of your Disney planning questions.
It's so exciting that in a few short weeks, you'll be visiting the
Disneyland Resort. There is so much magic and excitement waiting for you. Whether you want to
team up with your favorite Avengers,
race through Radiator Springs, or enjoy an afternoon of
nostalgic favorites, there truly is magic around every corner. And with the resort being the center of the
Disney100 Celebration, it's a fantastic time to visit!
While there currently aren't any discounts specific to individuals with cognitive disabilities or their companions, the resort offers various services to help them have a magical visit. Be sure to check out the
Services for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities page for more details.
One of the services I want to bring to your attention is the
Disability Access Service, often referred to as DAS. If your boyfriend is eligible, he can pre-register for this service between 2 and 30 days before his visit to book up to 2 one-hour return windows for select experiences (subject to availability). Once in the park, you can make more reservations, one at a time through the
Disneyland mobile app. The best part about this service is that you won't have to wait in the standard physical standby queue for these attractions. Instead, you can wait elsewhere until your one-hour return window arrives, when you are usually guided to a separate line for a much shorter wait! You can also register for this service on the day of your visit at
Guest Relations, but you will not be able to book the initial 2 attractions at once like if you had pre-registered. Instead, you will simply begin to book one return window at a time.
Lisa, I hope you and your boyfriend have a wonderful trip to the resort. If you have any other questions,
please feel free to reach out to me and I'd be happy to help!
Off to Neverland,
Matt
