Welcome to planDisney, Natasia, and Bright Suns!
I’m so happy to be chatting with a fellow Florida local AND a fellow
Star Wars fan. I can feel that the Force is strong with you. I hope that you’re getting excited for your visit with your boyfriend for his birthday — you’re so kind to be wanting to sprinkle some extra Star Wars magic on his special day!
While I’m sad to say that there are not currently any special birthday offerings happening at Black Spire Outpost, I can give you a couple ideas on how to make his birthday visit a little extra special! I’ll list my ideas below for you, Natasia!
-Visit Hollywood Studios (obviously)!
-While you’re visiting Hollywood Studios, make sure your boyfriend gets his complimentary “Happy Birthday” button from a gift shop so he can wear it all day! Sometimes extra magic gets sprinkled on birthday button wearers.
-Meet
Darth Vader at Star Wars Launch Bay. (Bonus Tip: If you have a Disney Visa Credit Card, sometimes Darth Vader is the special character for whom you can skip the line!)
-Check
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities for Darth Maul merchandise. Dok-Ondar keeps a fresh, rotating collection and you might get lucky!
-Ride
Star Tours to get up-close to R2-D2 in the ride queue and enjoy his shenanigans during the ride. (You also may encounter Darth Vader… I’d ride it a few times just in case! And I hope you get the seismic charge AT LEAST once!)
-Ask a Cast Member within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge if R2-D2 will be roaming around the marketplace that day! Sometimes you can interact with him while visiting Batuu!
-Visit
Backlot Express for a drink and something sweet! They almost always have a Star-Wars-themed sipper (that doubles as a great keepsake) and their Wookie Cookies are yummy!
-Send him a “Happy Birthday” greeting online. There are tons of free videos of Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and R2-D2 sharing birthday greetings — some are really well done, and I’m sure your boyfriend would love them!
-Bring a couple trading pins and spend some time trying to find Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and R2-D2 pins while you’re visiting! It’s like a scavenger hunt and could be really fun!
-Watch the “Behind the Attraction” episode on Disney+ about Star Tours! I really enjoyed this episode, and it could be a great thing to do on your boyfriend’s birthday.
I hope these inspired some ideas for you, Natasia! If you have additional questions, I hope you’ll park your podracer at planDisney again!
The Force will be with you, always.
