I have an 11 y/o boy who has light MR & moderate autism & I'm interested in knowing more about the FP+, DAS, & re ad. I'll be arriving 5/9-5/15 and I'm wondering what my best options are for obtaining these?

    Hello, Amy!

As a mom to a son with special needs, I appreciate that the Walt Disney World Resort makes every effort to make the resort accessible to all Guests, even those with non-apparent disabilities.

Every Guest can utilize the FastPass+ system as it's a service included with theme park admission. The FastPass+ system allows you to reserve up to three experiences per day at one theme park via your My Disney Experience account. For each selection, you will be given a one-hour window to visit the attraction. After you redeem your initial experiences, you can obtain a fourth at any FastPass+ kiosk. Once you have redeemed that one, you can obtain a fifth and so on. I suggest taking advantage of scheduling FastPass+ experiences to secure a few of your son's must-dos prior to your visit.

Once you arrive, you can request a Disability Access Service (DAS) card from any theme park Guest Relations. You must do this in person and bring your son with you so that you can discuss your son's specific needs with a Cast Member, who can offer assistance based upon your son's individual situation. The DAS Card allows your son (and up to 5 Guests) to obtain a return time to an attraction based on the posted wait time. After you finish the attraction, you can obtain another return time for a different attraction.

To maximize your park time, use both FastPass+ and the DAS Card. We also found that crowd levels are often lower early in the mornings, thus wait times are often shorter.

I hope this helps answer your question, and let me know if you have any other questions as you plan your visit!

    Have a magical day!
