We bought a 100yr Disney Popcorn bucket in May 2023, can we bring it back and use it for our Aug 2023 trip??

    Hiya Jocelyne!

Oh boy, don’t you just love that hot fresh buttery popcorn? Somehow it always tastes better in a Disney theme park. It’s my favorite Disney snack, so I’m excited to share the details with you of what’s poppin’ on the refillable popcorn bucket offer.

In each theme park and at Disney Springs, you’ll find popcorn carts selling our favorite salty snack. There are often themed buckets for sale, with the opportunity to receive discounted refills for your length of stay. The policy is intended to be for this vacation, so unfortunately the bucket purchased in May will not be honored on the August trip. As my son jokes, you “BUTTER not” try to refill an old bucket, as they are intended for the current length of stay only. It’s still a great deal for an individual vacation - I love how my family or friend group can easily share this on-the-go snack without making a mess, and it always hits the spot!

My son loves to keep our popcorn buckets to store toys in or use as sand pails at the beach and the character limited edition ones have become fun décor around our home. There are endless uses for these fun souvenirs to remember your special Walt Disney World Resort vacation even if it cannot be used for discounted refills on a future trip. When you arrive in August, there may be some special Halloween or fall themed buckets available, so keep an eye out! You can often find them in the My Disney Experience app by searching a key word of “souvenir” or “bucket” to see specific offerings and locations to purchase one on your visit.

Popcorn has a special history and intent at Disney Parks, Jocelyne. When Walt Disney opened Disneyland, he wanted Guests to smell the fresh popcorn as soon as they entered the park. He had the now-famous popcorn carts stationed right at the park entrance, as the tantalizing scent of popcorn signifies the big show is about to begin. To Walt, the theme park is a show and us Guests become a part of that as soon as we “leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.” Even now, the entrance to Magic Kingdom Park has popcorn carts set up immediately where you enter. Take a big whiff and imagine becoming a part of the special show that the legacy of Walt Disney has to offer you in this magical experience.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation this summer! The Disney100 celebration will still be going strong, so keep an eye out for all the special events and merchandise commemorating this milestone for The Walt Disney Company. Please don’t hesitate to ask us any other questions you have as you put together the final details – we'd love to help you make the most of this special trip!

    Happy snacking!
