Josue from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I bought 3 tickets for three days, I won’t be able to make it for the dates they were bought for due to a family emergency, will I be able to use them after the dates pass, or can I get a refund, I saw online saying that tickets don’t expire for a year

Hey Howdy Hey Josue and welcome to planDisney!

I am so sorry to hear that you will not be able to make it to your originally planned trip soon. Thank you for your question on the specifics of ticket usage. Let's review expiration dates and options.

Will all theme park tickets for Walt Disney World Resort, they are priced specifically for days of the week and season and they can change depending on these factors quite a bit. When you do purchase these tickets, they also come with an expiration date. With those two factors, you are more than able to change the dates of usage of your tickets, it just depends on when you want to do so. You can do all of this through your My Disney Experience account, so let's walk through these steps.

When you log onto your My Disney Experience account, go to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section and look for the heading "My Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker" which you will click on. Once there, you should see the tickets you have linked to your account and you should also see the expiration date of them listed. You should also find a blue link to "Change Ticket" which you will click on. This will give you options on when to change the dates of your ticket. As I noted above, tickets are priced for specific days and seasons so you might see a charge associated with this change if the day you want to change to is more expensive than the cost of the ticket you purchased. Keep in mind the expiration date as this tool will not let you book any dates outside that window.  If you did want to change the dates of your ticket outside of your expiration date, you still have this as an option!

In most cases, if you wanted to change the date of your ticket to a particular date outside your expiration date, Disney will usually honor what you paid for the unused tickets and apply that to the cost of a new ticket. This will have to be done by a Cast Member so a quick call to Disney would be in the works.

I hope everything works out for the best with your family and I hope the steps above provide a quick and easy fix to getting the dates of your tickets changed. Please feel free to stop back and let us know if you have any further questions, we would be happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
