We bought tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I read that Magic Kingdom closes at 6pm and then the Christmas party begins at 7pm. Are we allowed to stay in the park between 6pm and 7pm? We are planning on spending the whole day there.

Hello Amy, and thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question.

    Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
is one of my favorite special events at the Walt Disney World Resort. It is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. I am pleased to tell you that you will be able to spend the entire day in the Magic Kingdom.

Around 4:00 p.m. Cast Members will begin to distribute wristbands to party guests. They are typically located in the City Hall area. Everyone in your travel party will need to be present to get their wristband. A Cast Member will scan your MagicBand and confirm that you have a party ticket for the evening. Only guests with wristbands will be allowed to stay in the park after 6:00 p.m. Once you have your wristband, you will also be able to shop the Emporium and other shops for special holiday merchandise available only during the party.

Amy, you are going to have an amazing time, be sure to check out some of my favorites during the party. The Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is so much fun. You may even catch a glimpse of Santa in the parade. Holiday Wishes fireworks is an amazing fireworks spectacular set to music from some of your favorite Christmas songs. Feel free to sing along as you enjoy the show.

    Happy Holidays,
    Andrea
