Hey Howdy Hey Hector and welcome to planDisney!
I am so sorry to hear that you needed to reschedule your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort last year. We cannot wait for you to be our Guest later this year though! Thank you for stopping by with your questions about theme park tickets. I will be happy to give you more information on their usage.
In most cases, when purchasing theme park tickets online, these are date-based tickets. Ticket prices with these vary by day and throughout the year. They also come with valid usage dates and expiration dates. You are correct Hector, that last year you needed
Theme Park Reservations for all entries however Disney did update that this year. Currently, those
Guests with date-based tickets no longer need reservations to enter the parks. Although you may not need reservations to get into the parks, you may need to reactivate your tickets before usage.
If you log onto your
My Disney Experience account, go to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section and click on the heading "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker". If you have tickets that have not expired, you should see them there. You should also see an option to change the date of the tickets to a new date of usage. As long as the price you paid for your ticket is the same or more than the date you want to change it for, you should be able to do this with no extra charge. If the date you wanted to change them to is more expensive than what you paid for your tickets, you will be charged the difference.
If the tickets that you purchased expired, you may not see them linked to your My Disney Experience account. In most cases, Disney will still honor the amount that was paid for the tickets and apply that amount to the purchase of new tickets. This will have to be done with a little Magic from the Cast Members which you will have to
call Disney and discuss your options with them.
This information should cover most instances with tickets purchased online. If you find that your tickets are not date-based, your best bet would be to call Disney for clarification on when and how to use them and if reservations are needed. I hope this information helps get your answer and that you get back to planning your Magical trip soon. Please feel free to reach back out if you have any further questions, we are always happy to help!
Have a Magical day,
Nick
