We bought tickets last year to attend and we cancelled due to covid . We are wanting to come Jan 14th-17th. We want to update our tickets and get hotel reservations, not many rooms available. Please advise the best way to update. Donna

Hi there Donna, and welcome to planDisney

I'm thrilled to hear you're once again planning your Walt Disney World getaway. While I'm sure it was disappointing to miss out on last year's trip, this year you'll be able to enjoy the 50th-anniversary celebration. From dazzling nighttime spectaculars to new attractions, there's something incredible around every corner!

To upgrade the tickets you purchased so they are valid for future dates, you'll need to call 407-939-5277, and a Cast Member will assist you. I recently had to do this with water park tickets that expired before I could use them. I recommend calling either as soon as the phone lines open at 7 AM EST or later in the evening to avoid long wait times. If you do experience a brief hold, check out some recent articles on the Disney Parks Blog and find us on social media to see some of the latest updates from the theme parks and resorts.

I did a little investigating of resort availability for you, Donna. It's a holiday weekend, and a popular time of year for Guests traveling from up north in search of more Olaf-approved weather. The good news is, two great resorts are showing up when I put your dates into the booking tool on the Walt Disney World website. As of right now, both Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Caribbean Resort have rooms available the weekend you mentioned. Either hotel would situate you conveniently along the Disney Skyliner route. EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios are just a short flight away!

My advice is to book one of these resorts as soon as possible, even if they're not your top choices. If you were hoping to stay elsewhere, keep checking the website to see if something opens up at another location. Guests who booked vacation packages have until 30 days before check-in to cancel or modify their reservations, so your best chance to find a different room might be around a month before you're looking to travel.

I hope this is helpful, Donna. Best wishes for a wonderful winter escape, and if there's anything else we can planDisney can to do help, don't hesitate to reach out again.

    Have a magical day!
