Hello, Marissa!
Welcome to planDisney. I'm excited that you are bringing your son to Disneyland next year!
I suggest starting with the
Accessibility at Disneyland page, which provides information and suggestions for Guests with disabilities visiting Disneyland. The
Accessing Attraction Queues page also provides helpful details about different options for waiting in lines, as the choices vary depending on the attraction.
For example, Location Return Times are available for some older attractions in Disneyland Park where it is difficult for Guests with mobility devices to move through the queues. Rider Switch is another option when a Guest can't ride an attraction and needs someone to stay with them while the rest of the party enjoys the experience.
Guests with autism or other similar developmental disabilities who can't wait in line for a long time may also qualify for the Disability Access Service (DAS). You can request a live video chat on the
DAS page to determine eligibility up to 60 days in advance of your park visit. Your son will need to participate in the meeting, so I recommend joining the chat at a time of day that works best for both of you.
You could also consider purchasing
Lightning Lane Multi Pass. With this Fairy Godmother-approved service, Guests can use the
Disneyland app to reserve a time to enter the Lightning Lane entrance on many attractions. I buy Lightning Lane Multi Pass during every visit because it is such a time saver (which means more time for snacking!).
Marissa, I hope this information provides you with a good starting point. If you have more questions, please send them to planDisney.
Magic Happens!
