Hi! we bought tickets for our friends that don't have a MDE account, do they need to make a new account or can we all use the same account during our visit to the parks? If they need an account, do we need to send and invitation through our account?

    Hello Cristian!

Welcome to planDisney! What good friends you are to buy tickets for your friends! I also love that you are trying to help them by having the tickets and plans linked to your My Disney Experience Account! That can be confusing and I want to help you make it easy!

I recently had to deal with this issue with my mother-in-law. She does not have a smartphone, does not speak English, and does not want to do any planning. She trusted us to handle it and so we did! Guests who are 13 years or older can make their account but if they prefer you can continue to be responsible for them. What you should do is make a type of account that you manage. Just head to your Family & Friends List, scroll to the bottom, and click "+ Add a Guest." Choose the option to "enter their name and age" and just create this managed account for them. You can now assign them tickets and make reservations for them. It's important that for this trip your friends don't change their mind and decide to make their own My Disney Experience Account. It could cause issues with them having one account managed by you and another managed by themselves at the same time.

If they choose to make their account before you create one for them then make sure you all link up together on the Family & Friends List. You can connect to their account in the same way you made one for them but instead of selecting "manage all plans for this Guest" you will now "Invite this Guest to connect." They will have to accept this invitation and you're done!

One of the best things about connecting on your Family & Friends List is the ability to share planning responsibilities. A good strategy that I have used is to have one person on their account try to secure a Virtual Queue at 7 AM for a ride such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and then another person also at 7 AM booking the first Lightning Lane with Genie+. Since the times are the same to do so many things it is helpful to have someone assisting with their account connected to you.

I hope this helps and that you have a wonderful time together.

    Happy planning!
