Faith from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I bought tickets with my family for May 27 this month and I know that there’s grad nights going on. Does that mean the park closes early or is it regular closing time like 11pm or 10pm?

    Hi there, Faith!

I bet you're getting excited for your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! I'm glad to see that you are on top of your planning and taking a look at those Park Hours. I'm happy to answer your question so you can put the finishing touches on your planning and just sit back, relax, and enjoy the pixie dust.

Grad Nites at Disneyland are upon us! These are specially-ticked events for graduating students that take place on select evenings in May and June. I just took a look at the Park Hours and Entertainment schedule for May 27th, and you are correct that Grad Nite will be held at California Adventure that evening. What does that mean for standard theme park ticket holders? It means that the park will close for you at 9:00 PM that evening. Note that the graduates can enter the park starting at 8:00 PM, so you may see an influx of crowds around that time.

I do have some good news to share. I checked with a Cast Member and they confirmed that regular ticket holders can stay and watch the 9:00 PM showing of World of Color Happiness! before heading out of the park. This show is debuting May 16th as part of the 70th Anniversary Celebration and is sure to be a spectacle that you do not want to miss!

Additionally, if you have Park Hopper tickets, Disneyland Park will remain open until 11:00 PM on May 27th, subject to change. Grad Nite is only hosted in California Adventure, so as soon as World of Color wraps up, you can head back over to Disneyland to finish out your time in the magic. You can even catch the 10:45 PM viewing of the Paint the Night Parade for a double dose of nighttime spectaculars!

I'll leave you with one final tip. If you happen to have 1-Park-Per-Day tickets, you can upgrade to Park Hoppers directly in the Disneyland Mobile App to take full advantage of your time at the resort. Simply navigate to "My Tickets & Passes" from the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner. From here, you'll see the option to "Change Ticket" underneath the barcode. You will be able to select the tickets you wish to upgrade. Once you hit "Continue", scroll down to "Change Your Ticket Type" and follow the instructions from there.

Faith, I hope this has been helpful and has left you excited about your upcoming visit. If you have any more questions, we'd love to hear them! Feel free to stop by any time here at planDisney.

    Magic awaits!
