Hello, Paulette! It's my pleasure to welcome you to planDisney.
Paulette, I'm sorry to hear that your sister's December plans have been derailed. My cousin just experienced a similar circumstance and was very excited to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth but at the last minute needed to postpone their trip.
Now, let's chat about keeping the
tickets to use at a later date. Paulette, if the tickets you purchased have already been assigned to your sister and nephew in their own respective
My Disney Experience accounts, you'll first need to ask them to
reassign the tickets back to you. To do this, they can log into their account and visit the "My Plans" section. Displayed will be the daily itinerary, but they can toggle to the "Tickets, Passes and Memory Maker" page. Here your family can see any tickets that have been assigned to them and then reassign the tickets back to you (as long as you are
connected through the My Family & Friends section). If you are the manager of your sister and nephew's accounts, you can reassign the tickets yourself.
Once the tickets are back in your account and under your name, you'll want to modify them to a later date. Make sure to do this before the first day they are scheduled to be used. As ticket prices are date-based, it's possible you will need to pay the difference to change your ticket date. If you are unsure when you'll next be back at Walt Disney World, my best recommendation is to select a random date in the future that might work and then modify again when you have solid plans.
Paulette, with a few steps, you'll be ready to plan your next excursion to the Walt Disney World Resort. I hope this helps as you're trying to make the best out of a less-than-ideal situation. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney where, as Dory taught us, we just keep swimming!
