Hey there Lindsey,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! It sounds like you're already hard at work planning your next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth for next year - you're in good company here!
Currently, to visit the parks of the Disneyland Resort you need two things: valid
theme park tickets and a
theme park reservation for each day you plan to visit. For your tickets, you just need to purchase them and then they are valid through their expiration date. Once you have your tickets, you're then able to make your theme park reservation for the specific dates you plan to visit - and these are changeable as long as there are available park reservations for your chosen dates.
You typically make theme park reservations as part of the park ticket purchase process, so it sounds like you had already made your theme park reservations for March, but now your plans have changed and are wanting to switch your park reservations to a date in May. Easy enough!
Currently, park reservations are available about six months out from the current date, so if you want to make reservations further out than six months then you would just need to wait until those dates are made available. You can see how far out you can currently make park reservations on the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar. If you're hoping to visit later in May 2025, then you'll just need to wait a few more weeks for those dates to open up for reservations.
Thanks again for your question, Lindsey! I hope you have a great time at the Happiest Place on Earth during your visit next year.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
