Hi Brandi! Welcome to planDisney. There’s something extra special about visiting the
Disneyland Resort with a group, and it sounds like your crew is already set up for a fantastic day together.
Great question, and the short answer is yes! As long as everyone’s tickets are linked in the
Disneyland app and each person has purchased
Lightning Lane Multi Pass, one person can absolutely make Lightning Lane selections for the entire group. Once your tickets are linked, you’ll be able to select all eligible members of your party when booking return times. That said, there are a couple of important details to keep in mind to ensure everything runs smoothly.
First, every guest must have entered either
Disneyland Park or
Disney California Adventure Park before they can be included in a Lightning Lane selection. Even if tickets are linked ahead of time, you won’t be able to book return times for someone until they’ve scanned into the park.
Second, to keep your group on the same schedule, it’s best to coordinate your bookings carefully. If anyone in your party has already made a Lightning Lane selection, their timing may be different from the rest of the group. After booking a return time, guests can make another selection either after they’ve redeemed it or after 120 minutes have passed (whichever comes first). Keeping everyone aligned will help ensure you’re all riding together.
Here’s a helpful Q-Tip for your day: take advantage of shorter standby wait times in the morning. The first couple of hours after park opening are perfect for enjoying popular attractions with minimal waits. Then, as the day gets busier, you can start stacking Lightning Lane return times to keep things moving smoothly. My family loves starting the day with a quick trip through
Space Mountain before letting Lightning Lane guide the rest of our afternoon.
For a group your size, you’ve got some especially fun options. Filling a boat together on
Pirates of the Caribbean is always a memorable experience, and
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue is a great shared adventure (with a chance someone in your group could end up as the Rebel Spy!). If you’re looking for thrills,
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is perfect for capturing that unforgettable group reaction photo mid-drop.
Brandi, with your tickets linked and a little coordination, your group will be all set to experience the day together with ease. If you have any additional questions or would like other tips on how to make the most of your Disney Day, please visit us here again at planDisney.
Have the most wonderful time,
David
