I bought my ticket on the Disney app and I paid for the memory maker also. Do I get a wrist band with that? How do they know I purchased the memory maker?

Hey Howdy Hey Chelsi and welcome to planDisney!

I love how easy things are from your My Disney Experience app. It is such a convenient way to do things like buy park tickets, making dining reservations and Lightning Lane reservations from your phone. One of the big additions to making the app and your phone more convenient to use throughout the parks was the release of Disney MagicMobile Service last year. With this release, this did change a lot with regards to how you could navigate the parks with more options.

Since the release of MagicMobile Service, MagicBands are no longer complementary and are optional for touring the parks. You still do have the option to pay for MagicBands, but where to pick them up depends on when they are ordered. If you would like to order MagicBands online, you can do so through your My Disney Experience account and go to the "My MagicBands and Cards" section. There you should see an option to order your MagicBands for those in the party that would like them. If you order them more than 10 days from your date of arrival, they will ship to your home. If ordered between 6-10 days, they will be shipped to your resort and available for pick-up at the check-in desk when you arrive. If you are within 5 days of your trip, you can no longer order online, but you can purchase once you get to your resort hotel or at many places throughout the resort, such as Disney Springs or in the Theme Parks. If you purchase them once you arrive in Walt Disney World, a Cast Member will be able to help you link them directly to your My Disney Experience account so they can be used at the time of purchase.

If you did purchase Memory Maker for your trip, you can check this as well from your My Disney Experience account. From there, scroll to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section. There you should see a heading titled "Tickets & Memory Maker", click on that heading. You should see the confirmation of your purchase there with your Memory Maker. After your purchase, you do not need to do anything other than to find Disney PhotoPass photographers throughout the parks and ask to have your pictures taken. You can either have them scan your MagicBand or phone with your MagicMobile pass and they will be linked to your My Disney Experience account. From there you will have unlimited downloads of your pictures and full access to all of them.

Some recommendations I have for you start with Disney MagicMobile Service. This pass you can set up from your My Disney Experience app. Simply tap on the three horizontal lines at the bottom right-hand corner and you will see a tile for Disney MagicMobile Service where you can set up this pass for anyone in your party that wants it. This pass works just like your MagicBand but is free to set up and accessible right from your phone. Super easy to do and so convenient to use throughout the parks!

Since you do have Memory Maker, make sure you stop by as many Disney PhotoPass photographers as you can for pictures. Ask the photographers about MagicalShots where they can have special Disney characters Magically appear in your pictures for extra special ones!

Good luck with your continued planning and let us know if you have any further questions!

    Happy planning,
