I bought a ticket for my boyfriend and I to go, mid-June. Both tickets are under my name, how I can I make sure he can get in? He is added to my family and friends group.

    Hello, Nicole,

Enjoying a day of adventure at the Disneyland Resort with my significant other is definitely my preferred activity. You two are going to have a magical time.

If you would like, you are welcome to manage the theme park tickets for both you and your boyfriend. You can use the Tickets and Passes screen of the Disneyland mobile app to display your tickets to be scanned in at the park entrance. Regardless of the name attached to a park ticket, the photograph taken of the Guest activating the ticket will be used to determine who can use it from that point on. If you purchased or plan to purchase the Disney Genie+ service, you can also use just one mobile device to manage Lightning Lane return times and redeem them at the attractions.

But if you have plans to possibly separate during your visit to the Disneyland Resort or if you would like to take turns managing Lightning Lane return times, you may also choose to link your park tickets to multiple accounts. Here are the steps you can follow to link your tickets:

    1. Download the latest version of the Disneyland mobile app to each of your mobile phones.
    2. Create accounts, if needed, and log into your accounts within the app.
    3. From the app’s ☰ feature menu, open the Tickets and Passes screen.
    4. The account used to purchase the Disney eTickets and book the required theme park reservations will display the tickets and barcodes on the screen. You can swipe left and right to show each ticket.
    5. The account without tickets linked to it should show a button to "Link Tickets & Passes." If the button isn’t showing, tap the '+' button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Tap the “Link Tickets & Passes” button to show linking options.
    6. If you use the “Open Camera” option, you can point a phone’s camera at a ticket barcode showing on another phone to scan the ticket ID and link the ticket to the additional account.
    7. You may also choose the "Type ID" option to manually type in the ticket ID number and link the ticket to the other account.
    8. Repeat step 5 to finish linking all of the tickets.

Once the tickets have been linked to multiple accounts, any Guest with the tickets linked can use their device to scan ticket IDs at the entrances to the theme parks or attraction Lightning Lane entrances. And the Disney Genie Service Tip Board screen can be used to book Lightning Lane return times for attractions.

Tony's Tip: With or without tickets linked, the Disneyland mobile app can also be used to place mobile food and beverage orders at most quick service dining locations. Maybe if you mention this cool feature to your boyfriend he’ll get the hint and order some Dole Whip Pineapple Soft Serve for you from the Tiki Juice Bar. If he forgets, maybe you could mobile order a memory refresher from Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff. Either way would be a great way to cool down on a hot summer day.

Thanks for visiting us, Nicole. Feel free to stop by planDisney again if you have any other questions.

    See ya real soon!
