I have bought my teen daughter a Cinderella prom dress to wear specifically to the'16 MNSSHP. After spending over $500 for dress I'm seeing that she Many/may not be able to wear. I'd be very disappointed if this were true. Can she wear/or not.

Hi Melissa! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I can understand your disappointment if your daughter isn’t allowed to wear the costume that she has been dreaming of to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Unfortunately however this year there has been some changes in terms of costuming guidelines. These changes were put in place strictly for the safety of all guests.

I am not sure the age of your daughter but if she is 14 years of age or older the costuming guidelines are a bit more strict than they are for younger kids. Here is one of the requirements taken directly from the new set of guidelines: “Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground. (e.g. full-length Princess dresses)” This blurb tells me that they may not want your daughter wearing this specific costume that you have purchased her. Here is a full breakdown of the new costuming requirements.

If you are ever in doubt please don’t hesitate to contact the Walt Disney World Resort directly for clarification.
