Hi, I bought Southern California Resident tickets. Right now I want to add Genie+, what should I do? thank you.

    Hi Sarah!

Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad that you found us hEAR to assist with your Disneyland Resort vacation planning question!

At the current time, there are two ways to add the brand new Disney Genie+ Service add-on to your upcoming Disney days: the first is at the initial time of purchase when you're selecting your Disneyland Resort Theme Park Admission Tickets, and the second way is each day of your visit. To make the daily purchase you'll use your Disneyland Mobile App after you've entered the theme park for the day. (Pro Tip: You can purchase Genie+ at any time during the day, but it's best to do so as soon as possible.) While this does create a bit of extra work every morning vs. having it ready to go ahead of time had it been added to the initial ticket purchase, I actually like the idea of being able to 'test drive' Genie+ for the first day to decide if I want to purchase it again the next few days of my visit.

If you're the leader of a group you can add any and all tickets that you oversee (children's tickets, your spouse's ticket, etc) and purchase Genie+ for those in your group in one swoop. Or, if you're visiting with other adults who want to purchase Genie+ on their own, you can link all of your tickets up after the purchases are complete. This way everyone can try to get the same Lightning Lane Reservations together. To link your theme park tickets, either before or after the Genie+ purchase, you'll open up your Disneyland Mobile App and click the gray icon that looks like three stacked lines. (Mine shows as in the bottom right corner of the screen on my iPhone.) From the new screen, you'll click 'Tickets and Passes', and from this new screen, you'll click 'Link Tickets & Passes' at the top. From here you'll be able to scan the other tickets or add them by typing in the barcodes.

Bonus Tip: hEAR's a helpful link about the differences between Individual Lightning Lanes and Genie+ Lightning Lanes, as well as which attractions participate in which.

Bonus-Bonus Tip: Don't forget that Genie+ also includes all Disney PhotoPass in-person and on-attraction photos captured *each day. (*Each day of Genie+ purchase.)

I hope that this helped to clEAR up your question, Sarah! Thank you again for stopping by! Don't forget to check out the official planDisney Instagram account for all kinds of tips and tricks. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort planning questions, We're All Ears!
