Hiya Lisa!
Thanks for dropping by planDisney with your question! I’m sorry to hear a member of your party is unable to join your visit to the
Disneyland Resort. I hope you’re able to reschedule a trip with them in the future! In the meantime, I’d be delighted to answer your questions!
I’m pleased that you’ve already canceled their reservation. Unused single-day tickets and wholly unused multi-day tickets are valid for a future visit through the end of the stated expiration date. This date can usually be found on the back of the ticket. But, there’s no need to worry if they are unable to use the ticket before the printed expiration date. According to
eTicket Terms & Conditions, unless otherwise stated, the amount paid for any wholly unused, expired Disneyland Resort theme park ticket (with the exception of Special Event Tickets) may be applied towards the purchase of a new theme park admission ticket at the current price. When they’re ready to visit the Disneyland Resort, they’ll simply go to a Main Entrance ticket booth to apply the eligible ticket amount towards a new ticket purchase.
You do not have to change the name on an existing unused ticket in order for another person to use it. Once your party arrives at the turnstiles of the Disneyland Resort Theme Parks, a Cast Member will take a picture of each person and link it to their ticket. From then on, the ticket will be associated with the person in the picture, not the name on the ticket.
Multi-day Disneyland Resort Theme Park Tickets must be used by the same person each day. After the first use, a ticket may not be reassigned to a new person.
I hope this is the information you're looking for. Enjoy your vacation to “The Merriest Place on Earth!”
