Hey Howdy Hey Denise and welcome to planDisney!
Thank you for stopping by with your question about dining reservations in the parks and the impact on your theme park tickets. Let's go over the details and some recommendations for you.
When purchasing theme park tickets, base tickets will allow access to 1-park per day without any options such as the Park Hopper Option. With base tickets, you can only get into one park per day during normal operating hours. Once the business day is over, your access to the park is as well unless you have another ticket. In your situation, if you plan to be in one park but have dining reservations in another, you will have to use 2 of your tickets that day to do both.
In my opinion, if you wanted to keep that dining reservation, I would try to modify it to a day you will be in the park of the dining location. Disney has recently changed their cancelation policy for dining reservations and now you can cancel up to 2 hours before your reservation without penalty. You can keep checking back on your
My Disney Experience app to modify your reservation for a different day to make it work. There are times when plans change with others and you may luck out with availability the closer you get to your vacation. Just make sure if you do need to cancel, it is well before 2 hours from your reservation so you do not get charged!
If you are still looking into dining locations in the parks, I've got a few recommendations for you. In Magic Kingdom,
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen is a hidden gem in Adventureland. This location has a slightly more adventurous menu but I've never had a bad experience. The Cast Members make this location a super fun time with great food offerings.
50's Prime Time Cafe in Disney's Hollywood Studios is a little more of the old-fashioned favorites that will fill you up. This fun location is one where the Cast Members will give you a hard time and everyone is related in this fun location. My girls love it when our cousin who takes care of us during our meal gives me the business the whole time. Make sure to order a peanut butter and jelly milkshake, you can thank me later for that one! In EPCOT, you can enjoy the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays which is a celebration of the Holiday flavors for many food booths around the park. You might not want to have any table-service dining options this day as there are so many delectable options throughout the park!
It is a well-known fact that food is an attraction when in Walt Disney World and I hope you have a delightful experience indulging in any one of these delicious experiences. Let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help!
To Infinity and Beyond,
Nick
